Baldur’s Gate 3 Is Coming To Xbox This Year, But No Split-Screen On Series S
Baldur’s Gate 3 will, in reality, concerned Xbox later this year, designer Larian has validated. Nevertheless, the Series S edition won’t be up to par with the Series X version. Studio employer Swen Vincke said on X/Twitter that Larian has “found an option” to bring Baldur’s Gate 3 to Xbox gamers later this year.

Vincke said finding a way to get Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox was “something we’ve been working towards for rather a long time.”

When Baldur’s Gate 3 was announced for console, it was only confirmed for PlayStation 5. Larian later specified that concerns with Xbox Series S were to blame for the absence of an Xbox edition. Larian stated it wanted to have Baldur’s Gate 3 running to its quality standard throughout Series S and Series X, and the Series S edition was holding things back.
Spencer just recently told Eurogamer that people buying the Xbox Series S need to not expect all the features and systems that the same game on Series X may have.
“There are features that deliver on X today that do not ship on S, even from our own games, like ray-tracing that works on X, it’s not on S in certain video games. So for an S client, they spent roughly half what the X consumer purchased, they understand that it’s not going to run the very same way,” he said.
Baldur’s Gate 3 was released on PC earlier this month and became a fast success, reaching more than 875,000 peak concurrent gamers to rise up the Steam charts. Over its very first weekend, time spent playing Baldur’s Gate 3 comprised a quarter of total playtime throughout Steam.
Baldur’s Gate 3 releases on PlayStation on September 6. A release date for the Xbox edition has not been announced.
